J. Linwood Cates

J. Linwood (Lin) Cates provides legal services to people in and around the Person County area, a place where he grew up and lives with his family. Lin’s practice involves the following practice areas: estate planning (including wills, power of attorneys, and trusts for young children), real estate (including closings, refinances, and deed preparation), and business creation (LLCs and Corporations). Lin also represents clients in both District and Superior Courts including civil and criminal matters.

After graduating from Person High School, Lin majored in Industrial Relations at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. From there, he went on to receive his Law Degree from Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. Lin has practiced locally, at 36 Court Street, Roxboro, North Carolina, since 1999.
